Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on a snow package (tire and rim) for a 05 MCS. I would like to drop to either a 15 or 16 inch rim (down from 17, major pot holes here in the winter). Anybody have a set that they enjoy and why.

I just ordered a new set of 16x6.5 R84 X-lites with Dunlop Winter M-3 runflats for my winter package. Here in Germany you can order any MINI wheel with any tire at a package price. I'm sure I'm going to love the combo, and may even keep the X-lites on after winter with summer rubber. I doubt the grip will be noticibly less for normal semi-aggressive driving than with my 17" R99s, but the handling (ride quality) should be considerably better. I also think the X-lites are fantastic, and they're very very light for a OEM wheel (8 pounds lighter than the S-spokes).

Nice. I would love to get a set of 16" v-spoke mini wheels. Don't know what the cost would be though.
