Wheels...I was told that the standard S wheels weigh about 17lbs, well I was checking

wheels at Tirerack and found some called SSR Competition that weigh an incredibly light weight of 11 pounds for the 16" size. I would assume these rims be better than the stock ones for autocross and track days but was wondering if they would be able to hold up on street driving conditions, ie pot holes etc or would they damage easily??
They are a little pricy. Does anyone on this board have these wheels? and if so how do you like them??
cheers

The SSR Competition is very popular for track and autocross because of its light weight. Go to http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/ and do a search on SSR. I have just ordered 15x7 (9.3 lbs) for my car. Another lightweight wheel to look at that costs much less is the Kosei K1-TS.

I run 16x7s with 205-50 Kumhos. Run them on the street sometimes when I'm too lazy to change them after an event. No problems.

You hit a huge pothole and it's fair game with just about any wheel.
