Which tire for 17" R90 wheels with Eibach lowering springs

Hi

Which tire are the best for a Cooper with 17" R90 wheels and Eibach lowering springs? (lowered by 3cm)

I dont want to mod the wheelarche. I want to drive the car with 4 ppl without rubbing.

205/45/17, 215/45/17 or 215/40/17?

What size is the best?

205/45/17 would be the safest way to go IMO.

My mini has got Eibach Pro Kit fitted and is lowered about 30-35mm and i have got 205/45 17 Pirelli P-Zero Assemetrico and they don't rub only when i have people in the back seat but i would definately go for the 205's because other wise you may find it tram lining more with the 215's. My car tram lines more now, since i lowered it.

Don´t know if the width of the 215 tyre will cause a problem but the heigth will probably be ok either way.

The wheel with a 215/45/17 tyre is 9mm larger, witch means it will be 4,5mm closer to the wheelarche

With a 40 serie tyre it´s 12,5mm smaller, so 6,25mm further away from the arche and better acceleration. Topspeed will be a bit less, but we can´t drive that fast anyway in Holland... A bit more inaccuracy of the speedo but at least it´s on the safe side compared to the 215/45/17 option.

Jetblack, OMP upper and lower strutbrace, Milltek catback and manifold, softwaretuning, LED parking lights. 215hp/266Nm, 18" Works R95, Aerokit with smoked sidemarkers
