tire size??

What would be the largest tires I could put on the 15 inch rims and still have good clearance with no scrubbing?
Thanks

205/55-15 tires on OEM wheels.

I may get trashed for the following - but - Even though there are no members reporting their use - From doing the tire math - I would have to conclude that a 205/60-15 would
also fit with no clearance problems. The total tire diameter of a 205/60-15 tire is approximately 24.7 inches.

The total tire diameter of my 205/50-17 tires is approx. 25.1 inches. There are absolutely
no clearance issues on my 2003 Mini-S with the 25.1 inch tire diameter and OEM wheels.

However, I am alone out there in the tire diameter figures of members reporting. You must be your own decision maker when it comes to clearance issues and weigh all input. You may wish to side with caution and stay within the norm which will be the 55 aspect ratio given by MINIAC since there are four members reporting the use of 205/55-15 tires and that tire size
is well within specs.

By the way - You might want to update your 'Profile' with vehicle information. Many times
this will assist forum members in more accurately answering questions you may post in the future. Also, Welcome aboard! - You'll find many answers to a multitude of questions you'll have here in this forum. It's a great place to spend some quality learning time.

Most people wanting wider tires are looking for improved performance. Buying a 60 aspect ratio tire instead of a 55 is counter-productive as taller tires will mean poorer acceleration.
