Offline | as specced from factory, have had an in-head wrangle since sticking with the 16inch X-lites. I had a Cooper S as a courtesy car for about a month which had 17 inches - I found the ride a bit too harsh and on the country lanes the bump steer was really unsettling. Hoping for a bit more refinement on those 16's my current Cooper has 15 inchers and I have always felt the ride could take being a bit firmer. Guess I find out next week when the new car is deliverd |

Offline | looking at the spec of your car it seems like you have applied similar thought processes to me in choice of options. I went for - Red White, X- lites, Space Cloth, Aircon, front fogs, storage, interior lights, alloy patina, bonnet stripes, iPod interface, passenger seat height Can't wait. The photo's of yours look great put my mind at rest (well for a few minutes anyway) |

Offline | I think we read too many post here when basic is regarded as:- 1.6 Supercharged engine Intercooler CD Player RDS radio Traction Control Alloys Alarm 4 air bags ABS with EBD all round fog lights electric mirrors electric windows remote central locking run flat tyres twin exhaust external temperature guage run flat indicator etc - that's before options I had an old style Mini Cooper for many years which is almost as basic as it gets - I felt very posh having a sunroof and alarm. We are spoilt these days. P.S does the Rev counter have a digital speedo in it now? it only gets a brief mention in the catalogue so was wondernig if this had gone? |

Offline | ive had a few cars with big wheels, mainly Golf GTI's , I have had 16 / 17 / and 18 on them and I have allways found the 16'' to give the best allround proformance. If the roads are really smooth the bigger wheels can give more grip and a better turn in rsponse but how many roads are smooth. I have just taken delivery on a MC yesterday (my first Mini) which I have got 16'' fins on. Its to early to tell how good it is but so far so good. I might try some 17'' ifI can get some for the right price of Ebay, But I think its is just the loks that temps me. |

Offline | 16" best for handling especially with SS+...but avoid the runflats!! 17" looks the best or 18" but twitchy and harsh especially with runflats....Tramlines pretty bad too although lowering can help alleviate this a bit. |

Offline | have just changed from 16" to 17". The ride is a bit firmer on runflats, tramlines a little, steering firmer too but I can get round corners on my daily commute much, much quicker. The trade is comfort & handling for better roadholding & faster speed through corrners. |
