Unhappy Left Front Rotor Groove

I was noticing my left front rotor has about a 1/8" wide x 1/16" deep goove in it today along with rotor face ridges. Right side has normal wear. My MCS only has 9800 miles on it. I don't race, but I do drive it like I stole it. I'm sure its possible to get something on the brake pad face. However, that doesn't happen much in my experience. My question is: Do the mini's have issues with the brakes that cause this kind of wear?

I had the same thing happen to my right rear. come to find out. A peace of the pad had come apart and stayed under the pad. Every time I would hit the brake it would dig in a little more. never knew it was happening till it was to late. I fixed this by replaceing my solid rotors with sloted ones. this way nothing will stay under the pad long enough to score the rotor.

sounds most likely to be a forign object damage. Would be worth taking the pads out to have a look see......
