Repeated flats - damaged alloy?

Some time ago I smacked my offside front (I have a MCS with Chilli, so 17" S-spoke) on a kerb. Seemingly no damage at the time, but since then I have found I am losing air pressure in that tyre over a period of time and as of this weekend my 3rd tyre on that rim has gone down. I can't believe I am unlucky enough to just be getting the same wheel punctured so I have drawn the conclusion the wheel may have been buckled from that early impact and that this problem will re-occur.

So, as well as a new runflat, looking at replacing the wheel.

I know where to get good runflats from - Monty's Wheels & Tyres near Slough for reference - but does anyone know where I can pick up a replacement wheel cheap? For obvious reasons would like to avoid a franchised dealer.

Hope someone can help me out!

often, you will find ebay has one off wheels for sale they usually go cheap.

you can pick up repacement wheels from the dealer for £110 - which i guess is quite expensive when you have to add the cost of a runflat also

Don't understand this one. When the replacement tyres were fitted was a leak test not carried out? Did you check the rim when the tyre was off? I've had a leak problem but not with run-flats. It took 4 weeks for the tyre to deflate enough to set off the tyre indicator. Have checked this over a period of time and come to conclusion that some joker has been letting air out of the tyre. At the tyre repair place the guy identified that the tyre was a factory fitted wheel and tyre assy but reckoned that the balancing weight could be digging in to the seal so that when the weight of the car passes over that particular spot, some air is released then sealed. They did a fully submerged tyre test. No leaks. All seemed a bit far fetched to me but I'm no expert.

Why no previous diagnosis

Hmm, I had a mobile service refit the new tyre the few times before. On the last the guy (same gut each time and as perplexed as me) said that he could detect slight buckling but there was no suggestion that it was so severe that it broke the seal.

But, as you suggest, ,perhaps with some aggressive driving or an unusually pitted road surface we could be experiencing loads that have put pressure on rim or tyre enough to break the seal.

Anyway, will take a look at eBay but if anyone knows any reputable sources I would be grateful for info being passed on.

Take the wheel/tyre off the car, put 50+psi in it and submerge it in water without the valve cap on. If there's a leak, it will show.
