England Tyre sealant system rather than run flats

My 16" MCS runflats need replacing and rather than spend £120 per corner for high wear rate low grip tyres, I'm going to fit decent performance tyres & carry a tyre sealant & electric inflator.

What aftermarket tyre sealant & inflator do most people use when moving away from runflats? How have others solved this poblem?

Kev

Why not try the BMW sealant and inflator, I guess you can get this quite easily (the sealant at any rate) and it should fit under the boot floor.
I would like to think it would be of good quality too.
Shawn.

If you dont really need the boot space then stick a spare wheel in the boot! who wants to be repairing a punture with that stuff especially on a cold and blustery night!

I'm also told that some tyre companies dont like to do permanent repairs on 'tyre welded' tyres. Understandable really - its messy stuff.

I carry a can of "Flat fix", a cheap compressor and a bottle of slime for heavy problems.

If the tire is that badly damaged, I will buy a new one. As far as tyre shops not repairing tyres that have sealant in them, it seems that most tyre shops will not repair punctures in runflats at all!

On thing often overlooked in these much posted discussions is that run flats are not "No flats". A flat in the middle of Nevada with a run flat will ruin a tire and leave you stranded once you travel a hundred miles. So will a flat in a non runflat. In the boonies, I have a better chance of buying a tire or getting a repair on the non runflat.

Not all things in life come with a iron clad guarantee, not all MINI owners live within ten miles of a dealer or runflat equipped shop.

Hi,

I started a thread along similar lines a few days ago. You could take a look at it or just have a look at these two alternatives:

http://www.stopngo.co.uk/product_inf...0c9b421dc27fc5

and

http://www.ultrasealuk.biz/home1.htm

I am beginning to think the ultraseal would be a good thing in any type of tyre and maybe carry the tyre plug as a backup. For the price it's not really worth thinking about.
