17s or 18s and how low???

Cars just been in for a major service and i must admit its running so so well now, needs to go back to have the wishbone bushes replaced as there is a little movement from the front.

next is new wheels, i have found the ones i want, but not sure whether to stick with 17s, or go up to 18s???

would like to lower it slightly, not a silly amount, whats a good height for 17s and 18s??

help needed people, cant make a decision myself,

How do you find speed bumps, country lanes etc

I had 18" OZ Ultra Leggeras fitted yesterday and think it could do with a little lowering.

Don't get me wrong its not comfy, but it still handles fine compared to Runflat and standard suspension.

I have Yoko Parada Spec2's which although are 215 are very wide. I also have the JCW strut brace that helps on bumpy roads.

Eibachs are good I believe Scooby aka :Michael: has KW springs and had previously had Eibachs, he said he'd get Eibachs next time last time I asked him.

That's interesting to hear, you don't often hear a comparison between the two from someone who has experience of both. Has he given any reason for going back to the Eibachs?

Does the strut brace make much difference Damo?

Definately a better ride even with 215/35/18 profile tyres and a lot quieter (first thing I noticed).

I was more concerned with the underside coming in to contact with bumps / uneven road surfaces etc. if I lower it 30mm on top of going for bigger wheels?

Hey nice car! ...oh wait that looks very familiar ...and I vote, 18's for street - if your roads are relatively smooth - and 17's for track.

18's are too big for the MINI, imho.

He's on Eibachs, so that's a drop of 20-25mm as far as I know
