18inch wheels...

hey,
i don't know if this should be on this topic, or in the Engine and Drivetrain Tuning topic, but if i bought 18 inch wheels to replace 17s, what would i have to do to get the speedometer/odometer set with the new dimensions?

thanks,
michael

As long as you go with a lower profile tyre, thus leaving the rolling diameter pretty much the same, you shouldn't have to do anything to the speedo...

There are loads of us running 18s, and I doubt very much anyone has done anything to their speedo

As Nylo said...

I recently went from 205/45/17 tyres to 215/35/18.

Now 50mph on my speedo is about 48mph on a standalone satnav.

That is more than accurate for me!
