Offline | Wheels on a JCW I'd be having aftermarket wheels on my JCW (18" BK299s in black), so I spec'd up the included 16" wheels with my MINI. BUT, after I added the JCW package, it's told me I need different wheels (presumably because of the JCW brakes?) which are an extra £370!! Is there any way I can get away from this, ie. a helpful dealer that can specify the normal wheels still and fit my new wheels for me so I don't have to pay the £370? ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Don't see how any dealer can help with that problem. If your having the JCW's kit fitted at the factory, there's no way for them to move the car if the wheels are too small for the breaks. |

Offline | How about getting the dealer to fit the JCW after you've run the car in? It will probably end up costing you more than the £370 wheel upgrade though, so your still no better off. |

Offline | IIRC, there is one type of OEM 16" rim that will go over the JCW brakes. Perhaps you could convince your dealer to do a straight trade, the 17 S-lites that will be on the car for the 16's that fit? Sorry I can't remember the style, but I think I read it on MINI2. |

Offline | If the JCW kit is factory installed it includes the JC brake kit and LSD. If the JCW kit is dealer installed you can get the parts individually. That is all OK, as long as you can trust your dealer to do the install without mucking it up. So, order your MCS with the LSD then have your dealer install the JCW kit and add the JCW brakes if you want.(Some reviews of the JCW brakes do not make you want to run out and spend your money on them) Or, go aftermarket BigBrakeKit and get some excellant aluminium caliper BBK with aluminium hat ventilated disks. Offline | As you are a Privilege Member you could sell the 17" wheels on here after you have bought the car. I'm sure you would have no trouble selling brand new unmarked 17" OEM wheels. |

Offline | That is the correct tyre size. Clearance of the brakes depends on the offset on your BK299 wheels. You could try asking the question about clearance in a new thread. After all your public would be disappointed if you stopped asking new questions everyday . |

Offline | lol, hey I'm nearly there. I believe my questions are running out!! ![]() BTW, isn't "7.5" the offset? Don't know anything about offsets really, but on the BK site you have a choice of the BK299 18" in either 7 or 7.5. ![]() |

Offline | You're right, apparently the R87 16" Double Spoke will fit the JCW brakes. Got it from Outmotoring. ![]() www.MINICalgary.com |

Offline | The BK299's will fit with the JCW brakes. 7.5" is the width of the wheel, not the offset. The offset on these is 45. But the right offset doesn't mean they'll automaticaly fit as its the clearence created by the design of the wheel.. However 18" BK299's will have loads of clearence for the modest JCW brakes. ![]() |
