Tyre Pressure for 215/45/17

Hi all,

Just put some 215/45/17 eagle f1's on my s spokes and was wondering if someone
could tell me what the best tyre pressure would be to have these at.

Cheers

I run

32-34 front

33-35 back

Not sure why - just do. Gives me a little bit of controllable lift off oversteer to get the front end tuked in nicely.

Mind you I have been running softer Toyo rubber so today was my first with F1 rubber.

Anyone else got some pressures to share?

S

As a matter of interest I have Avon 215x40x17 ZZ3's on our Cooper at the moment which are currently at 30lbs all round for pressure.

Is this correct?

Any comments welcome

I'm running 35 front & 36 rear at present, also got the 215/45s.

Remember standard pressures are for runflats with their rock hard sidewalls, I've found you need a couple of extra psi in non runflats.

Also the Eagle F1's are sh*te for about the first 100 miles, then they start working.

Hi Minnington, cheers for the info, Have to agree with you about the tyres for the first
100 mile or so, they did'nt feel too good, now they've done a few hundred i'm really noticing the difference, especially the cornering, feels nicely glued to the road.

One thing i did notice the day i had them done, I went out to check the tyre
pressure, and the garage that fitted them only inflated them to 1.4 bar, is it normal to
under inflate newly fitted tyres or is this just a **** up by the garage.

38psi all round for me. Although I do fluctuate a bit, between 36-40psi.

I reckon the best bet is to just experiment until you find a setting that you like, then just make sure you tyres are wearing evenly and enjoy!
