Offline | Cherished mini, min thread depth Hi all My GF is picking up her cherished MSC tomorrow and I have a question regarding the minimum tread depth that dealers will sell their cars with. With BMW's, they will not sell cars with less than 3mm tread depth, is thsi the same with mini's. The front tyres have 2mm in the centre and 3mm on the outside and the dealer said he will not replace them. Thanks in advance Simon Mini One Audi S4 |

Offline | It might be worth getting in touch with MINI Customer Services to see what the "official" line is rather than what the dealer is trying to get away with.... ![]() I certainly wouldn't expect MINI and BMW to be any different. ![]() |

Offline | Simon, when i choose my car i checked the depth of the tyre on my on gauge, the two frontas were down to 4mm i bascially told the stealer that if you dont change the tyres i dont want the car. Low and behold when i picked the car up i checked the tyres both 7mm. The morale to the story is you are the customer, instit on better tyres or take you business elsware. |

Offline | Done that but they wont budge, we walked away for 3 days initialy because they would not change them. Does anyone know if it is part of "Mini Cherished", that the tyres have to be above a certain depth? Simon Mini One Audi S4 |

Offline | I have this from Mini Customer Information. We can confirm that for a used MINI the tyre tread depth should be a minimum of 3mm in a continuous band comprising the central 3/4 of the tread width and around the entire circumference. Simon Mini One Audi S4 |
