18" tires

so i want to run 18" wheels on my mini. most people have 215/35/18 tires, but some have 225/35/18. if i got 225/35/18, that would make the tire heigth 10mm taller, so am i correct in thinking it would be a little bit of a smoother ride? or does it even make a noticeable differance. what would be some pros and cons on these choices?

thanks in advace

michael

the tyre height would not be 10mm higher, it would be 10mm wider.

The height of the 215/35 would be 75mm and the 225/35 would be 79mm, so there would be a negligible difference in the ride quality, that difference is about the same as comparing a new tyre with one that is part worn....

I have 215/35/18's on my MINI and the ride is pretty good, mind you these are non run flats, that makes the biggest improvement in the ride quality.
