Which tyres to replace my runflats

Well my runflats are about dead (thank god) so im looking for some non runflats for my JCW r105's

I know alot of people use either yoko's or goodyear eagle F1's, but these dont come in 205/40r18???? and id prefer to keep the same tyre, dont really want to go on 35's think they look a bit skinny

Ive found a Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 in 205/40/R18, What are the other options??

Personally I'd go for Eagle F1s in 215(or225?)/35/18...they look cooler, plus you get to use Eagle F1s (great tyres).

The standard 17" runflats are 205/45/17, but most people (including me) replace them with 215/40/17 non-runflats. The wider tyre definitely looks better.

yeah im on JCW 18's, do standard tyres like the goodyear or Yoko offer good rim protection, like thats prob the best thing about the runflats!!

I've just got some Eagle F1s and they do have a rim protector built in, no idea if they're as protective as the runflats though.

Bryn I did a wee bit of research first time round when I was thinking of 18s. I agree exactly with your thoughts on the 35 profile tryes, much prefer the 40s. Don't quote me on this, but I think I found Falkens which came in that size. Try putting the full size into Google and see what comes up

(And let me know, coz I was thinking about this just t'other day )

He just gave me 2 new wheels/tyres

The corroded two were on the back, and as the tread was getting low on the front two, I got them to put the two older alloys/tyres from the fornt on to the back, and put the two new ones on the front...

Hi,

I have Toyo T1-S's on both my winter and summer alloy's. They are brilliant i think especialy when you get them wormed up. They are very good in the rain and suprisingly good in the snow!!! Ad for protection of the alloy's.... well let's say i avoid manhole covers like the plague!

That's the problem Peter (PmP) had with his, and as far as I know, his were replaced no bother too. mine were actually corroding around the centre cap, and on little parts on the spokes.

Just out of interest, which wheels of yours are suffering, front or rear?

What will you do tyre wise when your new ones come in, are you just going to run 2 RFs and 2 non RFs?

It started on the backs, but they are on the front now due to tyre wear!!!!!

Not sure what i'll do tbh, maybe soon as i get the 2 new wheels/tyres i'll take the new tyres off, and sell'em as new tyres, then just buy 4 new non-rf's!!
