I'm finally replacing my old runflats on my Cooper with the 16" 5-Star wheels. I'm also pretty much certain that I'm going to replace them with Eagle F1s. However, the size of the tires currently on my car are 195/55/16, but the F1s, at least according to Tirerack.com don't come in that exact size. If someone could please explain to me what the tire size numbers all mean, and if I have to get the exact size, or if I can deviate slightly from what is on my car right now. Thanks.

Use the 205/50x16 Eagle F1`s ! Regards Damian.

Tire Size Designation

205/50-16 is the most common replacement size for 195/55-16.

Based on the chart, I think 215/50-16 look interesting, but I don't know if they are too wide (clearance problems?)

Okay, so I'm about to order a set of Eagle F1 GS-D3s. I have the 5 star 16" wheels on my mini with the stock 195/55/16 runflats. If I order size 205/50/16 they will fit no problem, right?
