| SUPERcharged | JCW Calipers? Right... I have just spoken to my local dealer regarding getting some JCW brakes onto my car. He told me that I can buy JUST the calipers on there own OR buy the full brake kit? Is that correct? I reckon most people on here are more clued up than them sometimes Thanks! |

Offline | You can buy them seperate as replacements for if ones go wrong. however to use the JCW calipers you need different size pads and they fit a bigger disc so there is no point in buying them seperate and trying to fit to the stock disc and use your old pads. R |

Offline | haha dealers make us laugh . See below for the different size pad (large black) for theJCW kit compared to the original (medium green). The caliper will be further out to allow a bigger disc inside so the big pad may or may not fit but part of it won't even be over the smaller original disc. Most dealers are excellent but a few let the side down. You can buy four pot calipers designed for use on the original disc but they are as much as a full JCW kit from Woodmans. They maybe good if you have small wheels though. http://www.mini2.com/forum/group-buy...brake-kit.html ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |

Offline | I'm just thinking, would you be better off buying the JCW calipers and then sticking aftermarket (and cheaper) disks in there, perhaps slotted, as well as better pads? |

Offline | It all depends on what you want them for. If you track the car JCW probably isn't going far enough. If you don't track internal ventilation only is better as it will shorten the stopping distance. A mag I can't remember did a test on this years ago. Same with pads, if you zip around a track you need specialist pads. For road use the full JCW kit is a sensible option. ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |

Offline | Don't know but not anything from the EBC range. I sent them a template of the pads and nothing matches .![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |
