First brake fluid service.

I've had my MINI for 17 months. A few days ago I checked the days left until the brake fluid service was due and it said 18! So, I'm calling my dealer's service department to set an appointment for next week. Other than an oil change, this will be the first time that my MINI will go into service.

Here in Mexico MINI's only have a 2 year warranty, so mine is still covered. But, does that warranty cover this service? And, does anybody know exactly what is it that is done during this first brake service?

Since I have to take my car there, I will ask them to put some grease in the sunroof's tracks. I think that's also covered by the warranty!

Other than the oil change mentioned above, this will be my first experience with my dealer's service department. After reading some people's horror stories with their dealers I'm quite nervous about it!

In the US, the first brake fluid change is covered under the 3 year / 36K "free service" not the 4 year / 50K warranty.

count down, but I've never heard or seen anything about a brake fluid count down. Where is this located? Same display? If so how is it differentiated from the oil change count down? Thanks.

Thanks MINIAC! I'll have to check with my dealer to see if the Mexican 2 year warranty covers it! I'm calling tomorrow to make an appointment!

It is located in the same display. Press that little thing twice. One press: oil change countdown (in miles or km). Second press: brake fluid change countdown (in days). It's all in the MINI's manual!
