| You need to buy new sensors, available from your dealer. I don't think they're very much. I believe you need part # 34356761447 for the fronts and part # 34356761448 for the rears. ![]() 2006 MINI Cooper with JCW Sound Kit - sold July 2009 Now driving Golf VI GT TSI 1.4 160PS |

| Brakes Hi, I changed mine last weekend and broke the 2 sensors, oops,I unplugged them and have no intentions of replacing them. I think the sensor is 2 wires going down to a carbon sensor (that sits in your pads) my plan is to cut the wires just after the plug and solder them together, replace the plug and complete the circuit – this should turn the dash warning light off! I used and EBay supplier of mintex parts, brakes seem good, I’m pleased with em. You’ll need a calliper rewind tool thing to force the piston back into the rear callipers though. I still have a fair bit of travel in the brake pedal, could this be resolved by bleeding the brakes? |

The sensor wires are fairly cheap round £8.00 each at most I think. I got a friend who is a mechanic to change mine. The only trouble he had was trying to get the stupid light on the dash to go out when he had replaced the wires. I found solution on a bmw forum. When you have repaced your pads and sensors, you put your foot on the brake and then turn the ignition key to position one. You keep your foot on the brake until the light goes out on the dash. This resets the sensors. I thought I would save you the frustration that we had until we found this out. |

| New front sensors are £9. When I fitted my JCW brakes the sensors broke so they seem flimsy after use. I have left both unconnected and tied up and no light has come on so the reset is only needed after they come on. I'd hate to let my pads get so low as to rely on a sensor. Then again I replace my tyres when they get close to 2mm rather than the legal limit. I suspect my generation have regular checks on our cars programmed into us from a young age ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |
