Yes you can technically get a space saver wheel.............but it would have to go in the boot stood up as the S doesn't have the sling fitted to the cooper as the exhaust is in the way.

Or you can get a full size spare in the rear but have to remove the parcel shelf.

It was acceptable in the 80's

the part number for the wheel without tyre is 36-11-1-509-164.

You'd get one because unless you also carry a compressor around with you then the can doesn't work anywhere near enough.
So although expensive (apparently) you have a chance of getting the puncture repaired for a few pounds if the tyre isn't full of gunk / been ran on for 10miles with hardly any pressure in it damaging the sidewalls.

Or if you wanted to change the ******, hard, expensive runflats for standard tyres with proper grip. Thought about it myself.

Just bought a 17" wheel from a junk yard to fit my S and a tire (205/45/17) and it fits nicely behind the back seat. Picked up a vinyl cover to put on the tire/wheel to dress it up. Wheel was $175 , tire $103 and the cover $20 US. Also carry a plug kit but if you really ruin the tire it is of no use.

Having just taken my wheels off to swap front to back, a word of warning to those thinking of carrying a spare. Take a large rubber hammer as they wheels tend to get stuck on!!! (plus something to lay on)

You could always take out the back seat! GoGadget here has done that... I've seen it and am considering it, if it weren't for the amount of work required... laziness is my trait!

Australia Spare wheel is it possible?

Spare wheels are a waste of space!

And I live in Australia with miles and miles of open roads. Don't stress over that relic of the past, the spare wheel.

Mike in Australia.

Long live runflats!
