About tyres, sizes and rims

I´ve been reading and reading and searching and reading FAQ but haven´t found an answer for my question.

The case is this. I am gonna get my MCS Checkmate in about two months ( ) and I have to find some winter tyres.

As the Checkmate comes with those Flame Spoke light alloy rims, 205/45 R17, I would like to use those same rims with winter tyres.

As I have found out there are very few winter tyres in that size (Perelli 240 SnowSport the only ones I know), so I am planning to go for the 205/50/17 size (propably Nokia Hakkapeliitta RSi or Continental Viking Contact 3).

So basicly the questions are:

1. Can I fit 205/50/17 tyres in to my MCS? Is the size ok?

2. Can i fit those 205/50/17 tyres in to those Flame Spoke rims?

The 50 profile should not cause an issue on a 17 rim with only 205 tyres.
