| Runflats have much stiffer sidewall than regular tyres & the fitter should use a tool designed to remove runflats. If they don't it can mean having to use a lot more force & risk damaging the rim. Even if they do use the right kit, they can still leave marks - my rims have some very faint marks from last tyre replacement (non-dealer). ![]() |

| The dealer usually farms the work out to a tire shop. If the shop that I use also fits low profile tires on $900 bling wheels, I let them do mine. I have had several sets of runflats changed and repaired at the local performance tire dealer, with no problems. Slightly higher charge for having to deal with runflats, but no wheel or tire damage. If the guy in front of me is driving a lowrider, and packing a gun, I feel that the tire shop can do the job. ![]() |
