165/15?

Has anyone fitted 165/15 to a MINI? I was thinking that this may be a good size for snow tires.

Since the tire sizes are the same between R50/53 and R56, you can learn from the past forums. As a rule of thumb, a narrow snow tire will bite down into snow and a wide tire in snow will sled on top. There are two 15" sizes on Tire Rack's website they recommend for the MINI in snow tires: 175/65-15 and 195/60-15.

Ryan

Our local dealer puts those on all their MINIs. I opted for 195/55/16 after much deliberation. we get much less snow than where the dealer is - mainly ice and dry pavement. So far I have been really pleased, but haven't had any heavy snow to try, but lots of glare and black ice. I got the Michelin X-Ice tires. Feel great to me - and WAY quieter than my runflats. Couldn't walk up my driveway for the ice, but Lucy zipped right up. In the middle of a blizzard now, so the true test will come.
