Recommended tyres for 18" JCW wheels

Can anyone recommend good performing non run flat 205/40 tyres for R105 18" JCW wheels? My main objective is to improve the harsh ride and wet weather performance.

I put on michelin Pilot Sport 2'S on my GP and am very happy. Only good for warm weather wet or dry though. Steve

I'd recommend a move to 215/35 and choose the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3.

I've run these for around 25k miles (on 17" wheels) and the wet traction is excellent!

215/35 are best bet then you have a much better choice of tyres.

Goodyear Eagle F1's or Yoko Parada Spec 2's are the best choice

I just had some Toyo Proxes 4 205/40-18 all season tires installed on my GP Thursday to replace the stock Dunlop runflats that come with it. I only had about 900 miles on the Dunlops - the ride was too harsh for me. The Toyos have much nicer ride and less noise - I'll know more after putting more miles on th and I didn't want to wait until the tires were worn out to replace them. These tires were recommended by a fellow MINI GP owner who had installed them on one of his other MINIs.

I decided not to go with the 215/35-18 size as I have to careful to prevent the flexible plastic scrapers on each side of the car from scraping the pavement, and they are about 1/4" lower t.han the 205/40-18s

Toyo offers a 500 mile/45 day trial (here in the US - not sure about other places); The tires can be returned for exchange or refund within this period.
