Whether you go for 17 or 18 inch is entirely up to you. Not much rubber between the rim and road with 18's (not with mine anyway), but look good. If the roads round you are full of pot holes 17 inch may be better. Some people will tell you ride quality and handling suffer on 18's. When I ditched my 17" runflats and went with 18" non R/F the ride quality didn't seem to suffer, apart from more road noise. If going for 18's go for light ones, make such a difference.

Bolt pattern is 4 x 100mm.

215 = Tyre width
35 = Tyre profile (as % of width or something like that)
18 = Size in inches.

And don't forget the wheel offset. Wrong offset and your wheels may rub. Offset usually denoted by an ET figure.

215-35-18 are the tyres most MINI owners on 18's would rcommend as there is less likelyhood of rubbing. I run this size and Eibach springs on mine and don't have any rubbing, but I am usually in the car alone.

This may help in your choice of 17 or 18's.

I personally wanted 17's but could only get the Rota's I wanted in 18". Whatever you do keep the rims light, makes a huge difference. Ditching my S Spokes was the best thing i ever did, but wish I'd specced the traction option now.
