![]() Now answering to Lady J! | Runflat Light Coming On Just wondered if many of you had had any odd quirks with the runflat light coming on. My runflat indicator came on a month ago driving through a local village one evening to go to my friends house. When I left that night I went to a petrol stration and checked my tyre pressures and they seemed ok so I reset the runflat indicator. I then got my dad to recheck the pressures that weekend and all looked fine. Until last night when driving through the same village again going to my friends house, the runflat light came on at the same place in the village as last time. I haven't had a chance to check my tyre pressures as it was dark and raining and my car has had to go into Mini for some bits to be done today so I've asked them to check it out, but I just think its a bit odd that the light came on twice at the same place!! anyone else had any weird electrical/radio signals trigger the runflat indicator? Is this even possible?? |

Offline | I've only ever had the light come on when I change to and from winter tyres. It always comes on even if the pressures are ok. So the mechanism must be quite sensitive. Do check for a slow puncture though ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |

![]() Now answering to Lady J! | Well its in at Mini today so I've asked them to check. but its been a month and over 500 miles since the light came on last so it must a be a real slow puncture!!! Just thought it was VERY strange that the light came on driving through the same place as it did before. |

Offline | Just had the same thing happen -- three times. Checked (and even slightly over inflated) all four tires. The second time my rear brake lights stuck on when I was out of the car in the garage -- stayed on for 30 minutes despite banging on the pedle and everything else I coudl think of. Reset everything after that...and it's been fine for almost two months. Go figure! The spirit of English Electronics lives on!!! Mark of San Juan Capistrano Enjoying Paradise...with the top down! |

Offline | I've had my 03 MCS for 2 months, and I've had the light come on 3 times. I have no clue why either - I live in country Australia and our roads are terrible, I thought that must be the reason because I hadn't heard of anyone else having this problem til now. Too bad when i DO have a flat - sortof like the boy who cried wolf, I won't believe it!! |

Offline | I have had mine come on for no reason on both the Cooper and S. Sometimes a specific bang or pothole or speedhump seems to be able to set mine off multiple times....must be some thing to do with the type of contact the rim/.tyre makes and the sensor being a little sensitive to the change in pressure... I can aslo make mine come on through turning of the DSC and really pushing it along...turn a corner and all of a sudden the light pops on. Happens sometimes when I get the DSC to kick in too. |

Offline | My runflat light used to come on occasionally for no reason when i had the original wheels on. I thought it may have been if u hit a bump a little too hard causing the sensor to think it is a flat tyre? ...always wondered why it used to come on |
