Tyre Wear

While looking around my MINI Cooper today, I noticed the rear right tyre looks very worn in comparison with the other three. The tread depth is fine, but the rubber making up the tyre appears to be splitting! I have attached a photograph of this to demonstrate.

I'm most likely going to purchase a replacement tyre on Monday, but just wondered whether you think this an urgent issue or whether I'm just being paranoid. I suffered a puncture on the rear left tyre a few months ago, and when we took the tyre off the rubber was in a similar condition to the rubber on this tyre.

I should also add that these are 15" non-runflats (although you can establish this from the photo )

Your comments are greatly appreciated, thank you.

Have you checked the pressure of that tyre? If it is low it may be putting increased pressure on the sides of the tyres casuing them to fatigue.
