Online | The OEM wheels for the R56 have EH2+ humps (bumps on the bead seat to prevent a tire from sliding off the rim) to support 2nd generation run flat tires. Can 2nd generation run flats be fitted to 1st generation OEM wheels which only have EH2 humps? In other words ... will the tire stay on the wheel after a loss of pressure ![]() Last edited by MINIAC : Mar 7th, 2007 at 05:07 PM. |

Online | The wheels that have "crossed over" from 1st to 2nd generation have new casts and part numbers. In looking at RealOEM the 1st generation R97 (pn 36-11-6-768-980) is noted as "ENDED". Does this mean that replacing a damaged 1st generation R97 means getting a set of 4 2nd generation R97s (pn 36-11-6-775-685) to maintain run flat tire compatibility? |
