Advice on Toyo tyres for 19"

Hi,
I was looking at these wheels:

There are a choice of tyres but I am not sure what is what. I know that Toyo are good and would like to try them, so these are the options:

T1S 235/35R19
T1S 245/35R19
T1S 255/35R19
T1S 245/40R19

Is this wheel going to be too big/wide for the MINI? Mine is a first gen '04 ONE, currently with 17" S wheels. Also, do you have to have your speedo re-calibrated when you change the size of your wheel?

Thanks for any info

Try this link.

TYRESAVE: Tyre Size Calculator

Plug in your old tyre size. Then experiment with your sizes above. +/- 2.5% is ok apparently.

As for will they be too wide, you don't say what width or offset they are so can't help. Sorry.

With 19" wheels you'll need 215/35-19 tires.

Can't answer this question without knowing the width and offset of the wheels.

Just tried it myself. None of those tyres seem suitable, need to be lower profile. Probably something like 215/30/19 if there is such a thing. There are people with 19's on there MINI post on here, but I am on 18's and am no expert.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought that the 235/245/255 referred to width? I am so ignorant when it comes to tyres so I probably sound like an idiot.

The reason I put those tyres up was because those are the tyres the website say are compatible with that wheel.

The Inovit Rotor is available in 19x8 and 18x7.5 sizes. A 215/35 tire will fit on either of these wheels but you need to know the wheel offset to determine whether rubbing might be a problem.

Hey MINIAC, thanks for the info. I would be after the 19s. What is the wheel offset? How do I find that out?
