GF said it got worse when I went from Dunlop's on my JCW rims to the Yoko Paradas I have now. So I assume a lot of its to do with the tyres.

Oh right. Im actualy thinking off changing my runflats to something else to get the road noise down a little, how do you rate the Yoko's? Are you running 215/35/18s? Ive been looking at Toyo Proxes......

I love the Yoko's. Simply awesome in the dry (I hated the tyres you have now on anything but perfectly smooth dry tarmac). Not brilliant in the wet, but very predictable. As for road noise, well my cars noisy anyway what with the suspension and exhuast.

If it was my money I'd go with either Yoko Parada Spec 2's or Eage F1's. But have heard good things about the Dunlop Sport Max (All 215/35 R18 but the Yokos are very wide for a 215/35). Yokos can be quite cheap aswell (Although Mytyres always has them as very expensive compared to others)

Another GP owner on here from the NW (Wills_S) has got 205/40 R18 Michellin Pilot Sports 2. Will ask him to bob in here...

Here i am better late then never Yeah i've got the michellins only other tyre that are the correct rim size. It has reduced noise a little but with no back seats it's never going to be perfect. Ride is miles better and in terms of handling and grip different league especially the wet. Only gripe was the price 160 notes each as opose to 120 for the yoko's and eagles but they are a slightly harder compound so should last longer. My dunlopps managed 6k

I got my yokos for £360 fitted (£90 each) when my tyres was quoting 110 a tyre (unfitted). But mytyres is normally great just not with yokos

mine was from event tyres fitted and balanced with disposal off old rubber

I changed to non-runflats on my last car but I'm not risking it on the GP. I used to carry a can of glue/air pump in case the worst happened, however there is no where to keep it in the GP.

I was going to stick with run flats but i'm glad i didn't the pilots really makes the difference in terms of grip and handling just get a tin of tyre weld

I know the Works suspension is supposed to be great on the GP, but think of how much better it could of been if it hadn't been compromised by those horrible runflats!

Was glad to get shut of those dunlops when I had them.

If any of you don't mind having cheaper tyres on your cars, then give Nankang NS2's a try. Only £59 a corner for 18" from mytyres and there made by Yokohama. Also Avon ZZ3's are very good, there in the same price bracket as the Toyo's and F1's at £94 but they are British.

Oops... remembered wrong...

...selectatyre in Stockport did it for £440.01.

Uncluded 4 tyres balanced etc.
Filled with Nitrous oxide (instead of normal air, means tyre pressure hardly ever needs topping up but still best to chec. I've not put any air in them since it was done (11\th March 06)).
Disposal of 4 other tyres.

Having said that, someone on here with a 220+ John Cooper Works conversion kit did get them cheaper than me so maybe thats where I remembered the £360 from, let me find the guys posts.
