Where to start with this one!!??

From what you describe, first thought would be the brake pad wear sensor has not been correctly replaced/reset.

Apparently once the sensor has been tripped it needs replacing - have they checked the connection (goes all way back to ecu) I have the same problem - mine is going back to quikfir for new sensor on thursday week

apparently - if the sensor has been triped, it needs replacing as the plastic covering has been worn off.

Just what the mechanic said

That sounds like what it is.

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!
