Never let a Pilot do a Mechanics job

Last weekend I put new EBS drilled/slotted rotors, Yellow Stuff pads, braided lines, and changed the brake fluid on my MCS.

I had one of my friends (the pilot) help me (the helicopter mechanic) put them on.
I did the passenger side, he did the driver's side.
Everything seemed to be going well the install went smooth and they looked great.

We tried to use a vacuum bleeder for the fluid. If you ever have the chance DON"T. It was more of a pain than anything else.

Finally gave up and did it the old fashioned way. Worked great.

Drove the car home. The new pads were very noisy and had a pretty loud grind to them. I only drove about 10 miles a day trying to wait till I had time to bed them in properly.

By yesterday 3 of 4 seemed OK. No more noise, but the Left Rear was just making more noise. At work today I looked closer and saw the problem, the outside pad was on BACKWARDS!!!

Yes the outside pad will fit perfectly facing out, the only problem is that then it is metal to metal, and the pad isn't doing anything. NOT good on new rotors !!!

Yes I accept the fact that I am an idiot for not looking closer and catching the problem sooner.

Now I am out 1 rotor and 1 set of pads. Thankfully I kept the stock ones I took off cause the rear ones were still good.

Just a bit of advice even when rushing to get finished take the time to look again and make sure everything is on right. I checked all the bolts at least 2 times but never thought that the pad could go on backwards.

Check once, twice, step back, and then check again.
