I have 215/40/17 falkens and they fit fine...plus my car is lowered and running non standard wheels. The speedo will read about 2-3mph out at 60mph. however i believe its 2-3mph high so in fact it should guarentee your under the limit rather than over it.

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!

There is a link in one of the Wheel & Tire FAQs which shows the speedo changes resulting from plus-sizing tires.

Members have reported fitting Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in both 215/40-17 and 215/45-17 sizes. Click below to see the change in speedo readings:

I just fitted F1s in 215/40/17 and tested the speedo with GPS. When speedo shows 100km/h the GPS shows 94-95km. I.e. 62mph vs. 58-59mph (3-4mph off).

The F1s dont come in 205 width! did you mean 215/40/17? Is there a particular reason?

Hello
If you want stay with stock 17" measure, I recommend Continentel ContiSportContact 2 or Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. I Have in my JCW the Continental Tires, I am very satisfied with them. Substantially better that the Pirelli Eufori@ RF. But I think the Bridgestone are the better Tire... my opinion.. like a prefer the stock measure (205\45\17)

The TireRack recommends for MINI 215\45\17 and in this measure you can get the GSD3 or the new Goodyear...

Best Regards
