Braided brake lines - recommendations?

Hi all,

I need to replace one of the braided brake lines on my MCS, but can't remember where I got the last lot. Both minispares and minimania seem to stock them, but the prices are *vastly* different (minimania = £129, minispares = £63).

Mini Spares page
Mini Mania page

Does anyone have any recommendations or know of other suppliers against whom I could compare these prices?

Cheers,

Mal.

Do they not last as long as the standard ones, or has it been damaged by accident?

Cheers for the tip. Checked their site and they supply the same ones as minispares, but are more expensive (£69 or £79 depending on end-cap option). I might as well stick the URL here for future reference...

Damaged. From day one, I'd had problems with them rubbing against the wheel. Thing is, they were stiffer than the rubber hoses and shaped themselves differently around the suspension, etc. I thought I'd fixed it a while back using cable ties, but it must've still been rubbing at times. Earlier this week, under heavy braking, the off-side front wore through the braiding, the hose burst and my brakes failed. Thankfully, I was out for an early-morning blat and there was no-one around, so I didn't hit anything. Slightly unnerving, mind.

Anyway, I had a quick repair done by replacing it with a rubber hose, but I don't want to leave it like that. I want all four corners to have the same strength (and not be rubber), hence looking for a new set.

Hi, Stock (new) genuine Mini lines are as good as any. (except for gravel rallying). Its an MOT failure if the line rubs on anything as the steering is moved lock to lock,so check carefully after fitting.
Best regards Roland GTT
