X-lite

Right i was thinking about getting some new alloys for ONE, I was thinking i don't want to go up to 18" I have 15" s at the moment. I was thinking maybe 16 or 17,

I like the look of X-lite Alloys in white. What would a good price be to pay for a set of these with tyres ?

Also would they look good on an Astro Black One ?

Hi.

My brother had 15" rockets on his ONE D up until a few weeks ago, so I reckon I can give you some help here...

For the best compromise between looks and handling I'd say go for 17" wheels.

My brother got a set of four 17" Bullet wheels for £620 of E-Bay. The wheels and tyres were brand new as the guy selling them had swapped for 18" JCW's before he drove away from the dealer. Not a scratch on them and the tyres still had their paint spots on them (the runflats alone retail @ £135 EACH!!).

The Bullet wheels retail in the region of £1250 from MINI depending on the runflats they fit.

So I would no more than £650 for brand new wheels + tyres and between £500 - £550 with minor kerbing + used tyres.

James.

Oh and here are a few pics of his car to show the difference between 15" and 17" wheels, just in case you need anymore convincing!

I used to have X Lites and loved em.. went to Bullets and although they filled the arches a little more and grip the road a bit better I reckon the X Lites were the better rim. They just needed equipping with some decent tyres and the car lowering.

Nice thing is they are fairly rare too. Bullets, S spoke and Rockets are everywhere - X Lites still stand out and look fab

Finding second hand R84 X-lite wheels will likely be difficult, especially white ones. They're not fitted to 2nd Gen MINIs and they're popular because of their light weight.

You can price out the wheels (pn 36-11-1-512-351) and hub caps (pn 36-13-1-512-573) at a dealer.

The R92 7-spoke Fin wheels are also 1st Gen only wheels. The most commonly available 16" wheels will probably be the standard R56 MCS R102 S-winder wheels. But even with these Silver will be more available than White.
