Wheel advice

Hi guys,

I'm sure this has been answered before but I'm rushing off and don't have time to search the forums.

My tyres will soon need replacing on my 2005 R53 MCS so I thought I'd treat the car to a new set of wheels and non-runflat tyres. I've seen companies selling R90 replicas on eBay and really love the look of them and just need to know a few things before I buy.

1. Does anyone know what these wheels are like?
2. Who makes the alloys for MINI, especially the R90's and S-spokes?
3. What offset do I need?
4. What stud diameter do I need?
5. Do people recommend non-runflat over runflat?

Thanks for your help everyone. Apologies for not researching before asking

Richard.

The R90 and R99 wheels are made by BBS, a big reason they are so expensive at the dealer.

I was considering those replica wheels from eBay but decided against them, mostly because my friends S3 has replica wheels and they have started to fade and the paint is bubbling, i'm not sure if this is because they're replicas but it put me right off.

Offset I believe is ET55.

Not sure about stud diameter

Non-runflat are much quieter, lighter and give a smoother ride. I much prefer them over runflats. Runflats obviously give you some peace of mind tho. I just carry a tin of holts tyre weld in my car. Be warned tho, if you use this on a small puncture, the tyre cannot be repaired.

If you like the s-spokes then you'll love these...

They are RH Alurad Maxlites. The 17" version is the perfect fit for a MINI. I got a quote from a company in Dewsbury the other day, £450 for the wheels and £65 a tyre for some Toyos. I absolutely love these wheels!
