Hi furgusor,

No, those tyres are the 215/40s.... they are closest to the OEM 205/45's

im awfully confused about the sizes of the Goodyear F1 GDS3!

I have the standard S Spoke wheels with Pirelli Euphoria tyres (yes the awful run flat ones)...size of these are 205/45/17, but want to get the Goodyear GDS3 in a few thousand miles...

but what size to go for?...they dont come in the 205/45/17!!! Argh!

They do

215/45/17
215/40/17
205/40/17

but which are best, and like standard for the wheels in question?!!!!

thanks for any help!

Go for the 215/40/17s... those are what I'm running in all the pictures above - on the standard S-spoke wheels.

Any questions, just ask.

u bought more?!

i phoned them up and probably sounded unsure as to what I needed but told them I was after the goodyears in particular...

they asked me what car I had...so I told them...and the bloke said that they cant sell me those tyres as they werent for my car and would throw the speedo out etc...I would need to sign a disclaimer to say that I am buying them against the advice of BCircles and so on...

is that a problem - throwing the speedo out? from what I have read in previous posts here cant all be bad cos it actually makes the car slower than what it says; i.e if speedo says 60mph, the car would actually be doing 58?..or is the other way round?...oh i dunno!!!

Phone them up and place the order for GoodYear Eagle F1 GSD3s, 215/40/17s...

Blackcirlces are great guys... best of luck

Hi All, just had 4 214/45/17's fitted to my S-spokes and they are great. Bought from mytyres.com @ £77.60 each (inc vat + del) and then fitted by Pauls Tyres, near Southport for £10 each. Spot on job all round.

For standard 17" wheels, buy the 215/40 R17.

I have these on my 17" R90s and they running lovely, and previously had the same size on my S-Spokes

What do you base that on? Have you driven different sizes back to back on the same car?

Choosing the 215/45 over the standard 205/45 will increase the radius of the wheel and tyre by 1.46% - this means that at an indicated 70mph you'll actually be doing 71.02mph.

If instead you choose the 215/40 over the standard 205/45, you will actually reduce the radius of the wheel and tyre by -2.03%. This means that at an indicated 70mph, you'll actually be doing 68.58mph.

I run the 215/40's, the grip is much improved over standard, but then it would be running non-runflats, handling is much improved, but then again it would be, and again comfort is also improved.
