Goodyear Eagle F1s - Which?

Hi Guys,

I'm going to change from runflats to non-runflats very soon. I've been looking through the forums and I've finally decided on Goodyear Eagle F1s, but not sure whether to go for the GSD2 or GSD3.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two and which ones would be the better option (I've tried to search but it doesn't seem to be working).

not sure to be honest - are you sure the GSD2 isn't the run-flat version. i've got GSD3's which are the ones most folks on here have gone for & they're an excellent tyre.

have you done any price checking yet? i just ordered 2 from mytyres.co.uk for £74 each - cheapest high street tyre & exhaust centre was £112

Go for the 3's these are the latest version.

I agree with John, the 3 seems to be aq model upgrade, ie: tha latest version. I have the 3s and so far have ben very pleased with them indeed.

Was size tyre was that for £74 each??

im looking at 18's but there £97 so im guessing yours are 17"?

Excellent site, good price for the tyres. Where do you guys get them fitted to the wheels? Do you just use Kwik Fit or somewhere like that?

i just ordered two 215/40/R17 GSD 3's. the 2's are no longer made. Cost me £97 each fitted. My local tyre place is very careful with your alloy wheels. i cant say the same of ATS or other people I have used before that have damaged or scuffed wheels.

you can search for fitters local to you & then its up to you to organise with them to get the tyres fitted. most will take delivery of the tyres direct or you can have them delivered to home. its best to ring first - some fitters could be funny about you turning up with a set of tyres in the back

Does anyone have a picture of the F1s on S-Spokes. I want to see how different they look on the rims, being 10mm wider.

I've been using the GSD3s now for quite some time, can't recommend them enough.

Mytyres have them at £74 for 16" and £86 for 17" currently!

minicabrio - hows the ride on these non-RFs? with RFs at the moment, I feel like my bones are shaking each time I drive!!!

Ride is much improved over the runflats. I've actually gone back to runflats now with my new R90 alloys, and have the harsh ride back again. The MINI sports and sports plus suspension is hard though, and you will still feel all the bumps in the road.

I've got around 2000 miles before the runflats wear out - then I'm back on the GoodYears.

The main reason for getting them really for me is wet weather grip... in the dry the runflats are actually perfectly adequate, but find them aphauling in the wet. The GSD3s are amazing at dealing with wet roads and standing water.

The pictures that show the GSD3's, are they 215 45 R17's?
