Offline | If you've bought those Dunlop SP9000 from mytyres for £97 i've got some news for you.... those are not the runflat version. The correct model for runflat is SP SPORT 9000 DSST which is listed at £131.50 |

Offline | I've been looking at Mytyres as I also need a new one and the Dunlop SP9000 costing £96.30 say "rim-protection runout" - does that not mean runflat? I'm confused now! ![]() |

Offline | I've been back onto Mytyres site and have now seen that the runflat tyres actually say "runflat" as well as "rim-protection runout" so I guess I've answered my own question! Looks like I'll have to spend £131.50 if I want Dunlops ![]() |

Offline | The rim-protection run out thing just means your tyre sticks out off your rims a little more than a normal tyre, so they are protected a tiny bit more. Read more here £131.50 isn't so bad there are lots of places charging £160+. If you want a cheaper runflat you could always try the Pirelli Euforia £110.10 . |

Offline | Thanks for clarifying what the rim-protection thing is. I drove over a kerb in a multi story at the weekend and now have a small mark on my alloy and a damaged tyre. It's actually the rim-protector that's got a kind of slit in it. There's been no loss of pressure from my tyre - do you think I need a new one. I've only been driving to work and back since doing it and not too fast at that! |

Offline | I'd say it sounds like you'll need a new tyre. Damage like that to the sidewalls of your tyre could cause your tyre to blow-out while driving. Best to take the car to a local tyre shop and have them take a look at it. You don't want to loose a tyre at 70 mph for the sake of £131. |
