New tyres but problem! :( (mini review of Eagle F1s too!)

Went and got my Toyo T1-S's (205/40/17) replaced with Eagle F1 GSD3s (215/40/17) all round today, firstly such a difference! Havn't really pushed the car much with them on yet but it grips so much more round roundabouts and corners without sliding. The road noise has also really decreased and the ride is loads smoother.

The problem came after about 10 miles of having the tyres fitted the runflat light popped up and "bonged" at me and started flashing, i pressed the button once and the light went from flashing to full on, pressed it again and it switched off. Double checked all the tyres and they look fine.

Lastly the garage put 32psi all round in, whats the recommended psi for 215/40/17s?

Thanks

George

You should reset the TPMS if you change tires or add air to the tires.

I run 32psi all round on my F1 GSD3's.

Because the pressure has changed you need to reset the sensor. Just hold the button down for a while. If it comes on again, check your pressure. I check mine every week when I check the fluids and sometimes even clean it.

I too had Eagle F1s fitted today, but in 205/45 R17. As soon as I was ready to drive off, I reset the TPMS. No light after a few hours of driving.

I didn't know the Eagle F1s (GSD3) came in 205/45/R17,
but since I just saw your other post with pics of the tires,
It's undoubtably true.

Must be a newly introduced size. And just right for MINIs
with 17" wheels.

That's what I thought, until I was offered them about 6 months ago. When I checked with Goodyear themselves, they said they do make that size, but only sell them in Europe. If they're on sale anywhere else, it means they're imported, but that's not an issue as far as warranty etc goes.
