GTT Spiroslot Brake Kit

Hey all

Can anyone provide a (very) mini review of the GTT Spiroslot brakes if they have them fitted as I am looking at new brakes for road use only, but the GTT ones just seem quite expensive...but I imagine they are good...if someone could just help me make a decision!! I have spoken to Roland and got the prices, etc..

thanks

I have them on the front only with stage 1 pads. They are good with better initial bite than the standard discs with EBC Green and Red Stuff. However, I've found the fade to be pretty bad after one hard stop with them. I'd even go as far as to say worse than OEM pads. Once they are worn out I will be going straight to the stage 3. Roland recommended these to me if I wasn't happy with the Stage 1 pads.

They also squeal a bit too although this seems to have subsided a lot now I have put a few thousand miles on them.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Hi ,yes we do its the level 1/2/3. BTW there is a new compound for level 1 ,which is stonking. You probably wont need level 2 or 3 . We also use the new compound on the rears too.
Best Regards Roland GTT

what about the life of the pads Roland...compared to stock pads on stock discs?

Bearing in mind, I'm only a road user...and careful one at that - just need brakes which are more responsive!

Then you would find the stage 1 pads are good with the better initial bite. Looks like Roland already has a new level 1 pad anyway that's even better

I have a set on the front and only use it for road use. Just as good as OEM if not a little better. I am not having any problems with noise. There is less brake dust on the wheels and the discs look quite cool. They are easy enough to fit and come with more brake fluid if you need it.

Got mine fitted on the 3rd and are now working a treat. No squeak at all since theyve been fitted even though I was expecting some to start with. At first I thought oh no Ive made a mistake - they worked but didnt realy bite. However now that they Ive done more miles on them they are pretty impressive - a definate improvement over stock and IMO look very cool!

Cheers for your help Roland!

I've been running stage 2 for about a year now and still working great even after seeing the track a couple of times and many thousands of miles. But if you are a gentle driver then the stage 2 might not be the best for you as they do need a little bit of heat to get the best from them. And in summer when they get really hot and on the track they are just fantastic! Really responsive and no fade even braking from 100mph time and time again.

Dont forget to bed them in properly which does take a long time from my experience...

What stage of pads did you go for Keano.

Am i right in thinking there are 3 types of pad available, Kevlar, Track and Race?

Need to replace my brakes very soon but cannot make my mind up what pad option to go for.

I got the Kevlar. I do quite a few commuting miles, dont track my car but tend to have a "play" when I get a chance and they do the trick for me. I didnt want any squeaking - I would like a bit more bite but have presumed that this would come a bit of a price (more squealing) so am happy. Plus they are still bedding in properly so they may still improve....

Mine dont squeal but you do often at slow speed get a metallic sound when braking but certainly not brake squeal.
