Litres of Brake Fluid needed??

Hi

How many litres of brake fluid are needed to do a brake fluid change??

I want to upgrade to something a bit better than OEM

When i had my disks and pads changed just recently i bought the gtt ones and had an independant garage fit them and they used the 2 litres that was supplied with them and some left over hope this helps

So 2 litres will be more than enough for a complete brake fluid change?

what fluid did you get, did you notice a change?

Yeah sure it was 2 1litre bottles, it was dot 5.1 and compared to the OEM ones a considerable improvement i've got the bottle that was left over somewhere in the shed i'll have a butchers for it later.

2 litres is what you need and you'll probably use 1.75 litres.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Here is more information about brake fluids StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades and a how-to Lone Star Mini Club Forums - Brake Fluid Flush

Two liters will do a thorough flush and one liter is good enough for a bleed. Something I don’t mention in the how-to is gravity bleed. After the first bleed I wait a half hour and perform a second bleed, then I give the calipers a few taps with a nylon ratchet handle, wait a while, and perform gravity bleed (non-pressurized) to finish. Use all of the fluid because it can’t be saved for later.
