Offline | I have a GP also and the JCW breaks are pretty darn good. What kind of biasing did you do to balance out your kit? I set the fastest lap time on the track last weekend using stock JCW brakes and pads. There were 4 cars there that went faster 1. Stoptech supercharged Corvette factory car 2. Stasis Audi TT factory car, big turbo 3. aerial atom 4. 450whp EVO track car of course my GP has my engine parts / cross coilovers and hoosier tires with STOCK brakes my brakes were fading when I had to abuse them to get around the Atom during the run but I eventually broke him. I am now looking into some brake ducts. Any help would be appreciated. |

Offline | I have only ever been to knockhill for trackdays, its quite a short track I think and I cooked the JCW after a few laps, which meant I would have to sit and wait for them to cool down, and I don`t like doing that, shouldn`t be a problem with the new ones. I haven`t put any biasing on yet, GTT think it might not need anything, I`m going to try it out for a while and see how I get one, I have tried quite a few emergency stops to see how it feels and it stops great. Going to move onto engine parts next (if I get permision fom the missus). On one of my old mini`s spent a lot of money on the go faster parts and nothing on stopping power, that didn`t end well, and I really like this car, doing things in the right order this time. |

Offline | Not Cheap Told the wife it cost £800 and she wasn`t really pleased about that. She'd kill me if she new the real price. Prices are on the GTT site: GT TUNING PERFORMANCE Brakes/Suspensions etc add another £400 in VAT, spacers and extension bolts. |

| MINI2 Senior | Aye - I might have to use that trick too - I've just spent £850 with GTT, £900 on new alloys with tyres and £780 in the next couple of weeks for a new head and dyno session !!Might have to leave the Porsche brakes a wee bit longer although might save on the fitting for a local fitting specialist called Birdog ?!?!?Vroooom Vroooom |

Offline | If you need a hand it is no problem at all. They do come with instruction and its pretty straight forward. Im` an electronic geek, mechanical stuff isn`t really my calling and I had no problems. |

Offline | spent all of sunday changing them, proabaly spent 4 or 5 hours doing the first side, never changed brakes before, changing the second side was a lot faster. I had to use 20mm, doesn`t leave much clearance between the wheel and calliper but it enough. Put 15mm on the back to balance things up. |

| GP 0380 | C**t!!! ![]() ![]() Stunning, I want a set on our so much. Do the 20mm spacers not make front tyres rub arches? Probably get away with it unless you ever lower the GP. Tried it with no rear spacers? I remember when I had 5mm spacer at front of S it made a huge difference to handling, but tyres rubbed arches lol. ![]() |

Offline | ....Your just not braking anywhere near hard enough or late enough Jan ![]() The GTT kits moves bias forward a little with the fast road pads supplied. This is beneficial particularly for track use, For me, I like even more forward bias. Ive now moved the bias more forward with either Red Ceramic or (now) DS3000. (stock pads on the rear) Feels like about 85 % bias to the front now.....it stands on its nose. You can turn in with a fair bit of brake pressure applied like this, without it threatening to come round on you as you turn in,were not fully releasing the pedal until practically right on the apex. Stock GP brakes wouldnt last 2 laps of on the limit braking at most circuits. ![]() |

Online | I'm an office geek too, whi never picked up a spanner until I owned a MCS a year ago. Took me 3 hours to fit my GTT/Porsche brakes with only written instructions and having never looked at the brakes before. I imagine it would be uch easier if you hsve the full guide that was in Modern MINI magazine. |
