Are braided stainless steel brake lines a must with a bbk?
Im fitting the porsche gtt bbk 2moro so wondering if i need to get them.
I only use my car for fast road use.

I would personally recommend the use of them tho especially with a Porsche BBK.

Seems slightly pointless going to the effort and expense of a bbk and not fitting braided hoses. You will only gain the full benefit if you reduce any hose expansion to the absolute minimum.

I'd recommend going for the braided hoses. As well as looking , you won't regret your decision when you have to give the middle pedal some welly!

They are better than stock hoses...but that said you can't see them perish so always be aware that you need to find a way to make sure they don't perish and suddenly give way without you seeing beforehand. I used to run braided hoses on my other cars but to ensure they were always in tip top nick I used to change them for new hoses every year when I did my brake service Expensive but its one way to avoid a failure

Depending upon the type of hose end and the fitting on the replacement caliper the stock hoses might be adaptable to the new caliper. On the other hand I cannot think of a BBK on the market that does not include them- or at least offer them as part of a package.

...if you are spending in excess of £1,500 on brakes, then surely to go with the better hoses makes sense (only £60 ish)

False economy otherwise.

Cheers,

Fitted the braided hoses recently as the stock one had a little nick in it, so decided to replace to be 100% sure I didnt end up with a problem.

I cant tell any difference at all between the Porsche brakes with stock 4 year old hoses and new goodyear braided hoses.
