Offline | Tyre pressures Hi chaps Took delivery of our new MCS Works a few weeks ago, very pleased with it so far. For info, can anyone tell me the correct tyre pressures for 17" flame spoke with Dunlop Sports, as the info panel on the car door pillar would refer to the standard wheels? Thanks |

Offline | The pressure on mine changes according to how many people your planning tp carry. I leave mine at 2 people, so 2.2 bar. If in doubt I would contact MINI. 2.7 seems high to me. |

Offline | I would agree 2.7 is far too high, the car will be bouncing all over the road, and I would say very difficult to control especially if you hit an uneven part of tarmac on a bend. Mine is set at 2.2 and seems to be just right, for me anyway. |

Offline | The correct pressure for upto 3 people is 3.5 Bar, or 35psi all round. Ialso believe the reason for the pressure being exact has something to do with the Aquapaning formula. |

Offline | 2.5 bar = 36.25 psi = 250 KPa is the marking on my September build MCS with 17" crown spokes. Car was delivered with 31 psi and felt seriously weird... Rob. |

Offline | I've aways used PSI - but now I get my Cooper D and I haven't got a clue what pressure it should be. It is fitted with the Chili pack and therefore comes with 195/55/R16 runflats. - the chart in the door states 2,4 220 for two people or 2,4 240 for fully laden for these tyres. My pressure gauge reads all the tyres as 26.5 psi. What should the psi read and are the recommended pressures applicable to these runflat tyres - your help would be appreciated because I'm flummoxed. |

Offline | So really I want to be somewhere like 33psi and the car is 26.5psi - wow that needs sorting out if the sticker is correct. They don't seem soft at all - why would they decide deliver a new car with all four tyres inflated exactly the same but all well off the recommended pressure. Thanks for your help. |

Offline | You can't trust that the dealer got it right. I have the 17" horseshoes with dunlop sp01 runflats too. The car was delivered with only 31 psi (2.1 bar) , while the canadian owners manual says to use 36 (2.5) for normal driving or 38 (2.6) for high speed use. |

Offline | 1. Miscalibrated equipment at the garage. 2. Mechanic wets finger, puts it in the air "Erm, 26.5 psi sounds right" 3. Extremely hot day/tires when they inflated them. But more likely - they made a ****-up. |

Offline | I have 17 inch web spoke with the Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST 84V rating, the sticker on my door sill says under 100MPH 38 psi over 100MPH 41 psi I have had them at 41 psi cold pressure since the car was new and now have 7,000 mies on it, and I do auto cross and track race the car. I have felt the presser and handleing was just fine, but I do have an H-copmition rear sway bar. The only other mod I have down was the JCW stage one up grade. Last time I tracked it out of a starting line up of 42 cars I came in fourth behind a corvette, a lotus elsie, and a lotus exige, I could ride there rear bumper in the corners but they left me behind on the straights. I will definately be adding a few more HP. The Mini is quite an amazing car. Dennis |
