| MINI2 Regular | Help!! Hi, My mini has developed a flat only after a month! Now I am not too sure what has happened but I don't think it actually has a puncture as I can't find anything on the tyre. The car was pulling yesterday so I checked the tyre and it was very low, one thing that did concern me (a lot) was that the tyre warning light on the dash didn't come on. I pulled into a garage and pumped the tyre back up, but today it was low again (3PSI). I rang the emergency number as it was 4.30pm and the nearest dealership (Park Lane) was closed. A few questions....
Thanks Chris |

Offline | 1. Possible but very unlikely. 2. A lot of differing advice on whether or not a runflat can/should be repaired. MINI say not, but, I spoke to Goodyear and they said in theory it was OK but BMW/MINI advise otherwise. 3. For a puncture, I doubt it - but you can always ask. A lot of tyre dealers are open to 8pm during the week. 4. Not that I know of. On the warning not showing, it is possible it was never set. I would complain to the dealer as they should have done this at PDI. All owners should also reset this after putting any air in the tyres. Tyre pressures should be checked every couple of weeks by owners. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

| MINI2 Regular | Thanks Ken, I took the car into KwikFit this morning and asked about repairing the tyre - the answer was that it was illegal to repair runflats, to which i argued with the person I reckon I could have got them to repair it but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle so they fitted a Pirelli run flat to the tune of £156. To add insult to injury - the tyre pressure warning light came on as I entered the forecourt of the garage! |
