Question Non-Runflat Recommendations - Leeds Area

Hi,

I've decided to go down the route of changing my runflats to non-runflats.

This is mainly due to the cost of replacing and the relatively low mileage that they seem to last. I have read many of the other threads debating the pros and cons and i don't mind having to carry a compressor and a can of sealant.

Now seems like a good time to change, as my tyres are low on tread and i have a screw in a recently replaced tyre.

I currently have the 17" S-lites on my MCS with the Dunlop SP9000s.

I have looked at blackcircles.com and the Falken ZE512 tyres - £283 for 4 tyres. Opposed to over £700 as quoted by Scothall Leeds for replacement runflats.

Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations of a garage (Leeds area) to fit them. The site does give a list of approved garages but I'd prefer using one that a fellow MINI2er had experience of. Hopefully to avoid any damage to the alloys themselves as i believe runflats are a bit of a pig to get off.

Please feel free to suggest any alternative tyres you can recommend too.

Cheers!

HEllloooo!!
Where abouts in leeds are you?? I get mine repaired/changed at my local tyre shop in Sherburn in Elmet...they've done a few tyres for me and are VERY reasonable - if you speak VERY nicely to them!!!! Other than that I went to Gordons Tyres on Lock Lane in Castleford who quoted me cheaper than what blackcircles quoted!! (I just went in and asked for a price...told them what black circles had quoted and they went underneath it!! ) Hope this help!!

ALTHOUGH SHE NEEDS A BIT OF GUIDANCE, LESLEY WILL BE MY BIATCH FOR NOW...!

Rich_IX - I take it these are just suppliers? Thanks but I would prefer the supply and fit option for convenience really.

Good skills! I think my mind is made up on the choice of tyre now.

Just hope i get a competent tyre fitter that doesn't scratch my alloys.
