rear brake upgrade

tarox do an upgrade for mini rear brakes IE enlarged discs, new calipers etc

am i right in thinking that nobody else offers anything in this area ?
beyond replacement pads & discs to OEM size

is this because the market is too small, or the gains not worth the cash, any other reasons?

oh all after fitting front BBK in case you were wondering

on a FWD car it's better to have the front axle with the highest braking power...so there's no real need for a big brake kit for the rear axle.

i have bigger discs on the back (310mm) using the existing caliper with an extension bracket on it
It is just really to match my front 310mm and dont significantly improve rear braking

to expand slightly,
not dabbled with brakes since my beetle days so feel free to shoot down this kite

ATE BBK to front,

what about the rears? just upgrade pads [road not race]

discs? they will need changing at some time so why not have something that matches the fronts a bit closer, fills out the alloy wheels a little more, shouldn't cost the earth and any improvement in stopping power/fade resistance will always be welcomed

so thinking in terms of using ATE power discs for rear [ only available as front fitment for mini ]
so about 10mm thicker [ as vented] and 20mm bigger diameter than std rears

please point out any downside?

On track days I know a few people running BBKs have found that under hard work the rer brakes get really cooked as they cant disperse the heat enough. Better heat rated pads and maybe some better cooling (vents) would probably be better than just enlarging the raer set-up...howver its thats not possible physical size changes should also allow the brakes to cope a bit better with the heat/degredation of the pads.
