Removing runflats

Don't know if this has been asked before but if runflats are taken off wheels, can the same tyres be put back without any ill effect, ie, can the shape be affected when taking off and put back on and should they be put back on. Thinking of getting wheels re-sprayed but i'm concerned whether the runflats shape will be affected if they are taken off then on again and don't want to fork out for any new tyres.

Due to the extra force required to remove the runflats from the rims, it not uncommon for fitters to damage tyre walls when removing them - normally this isn't an issue as tyres are usually discarded when changed. I've seen this happen on quite a few tyres.

Providing the are removed carefully, with no damage to the sidewalls, they could be re-fitted.

yeah, been concerned that if someone messes up when removing them then I would have to end up paying for new tyres when the old ones were perfectly good. They would surely be obliged to pay for them if they did damage them?? Shouldn't they??

Definitely ask the question before they begin.

You'll probably find otherwise there is some disclaimer in their small print which says "We are not responsible........"
