DIY ///The ULTIMATE forged wheel!

Hello, we are now offering the Rays Wheels line-up. The Volk RE30 is the lightest wheel in the Rays Wheels line-up. Rays Wheels are official wheel supplier to the Williams F1 team. The RE30 wheel is completely FORGED and then heat treated, this is the superior method of wheel construction. The manufacturing process is not different in any way from the process used for making F1 racing wheels. The RE30 comes in two sizes 16 and 17inch. The 17inch wheels will clear the Brembo big brake kit. Our website will be soon up and running, in the mean time if you have any question/queries no matter how big or small please do not hesitate to contact us on 01234 343000. SPECS:

17x7.5inch
Offset: 48
Weight: @ 15 pounds (I will actually weigh them!)

16x7inch
Offset: 42
Weight: @ (Will find actual weight!)

I've also attached a video of the Rays Wheels manufacturing process.

Each 17x7.5 wheel is £355+vat. Set of 4 is £1668.5 (including vat). These are the ultimate in lightweight wheels.

no offence but does lighter the weight mean softer material thus easier to deform

More Air + More Fuel = More Power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The low weight of the wheel is an attribute of the manufacturing process used, in this case forging. By placing a large lump of billet aluminium in a press and apply roughly 10,000 tons of pressure you are able to perfectly manipulate the grain structure of the metal so it flows one way. This in turns creates a superbly strong wheel. So strong in fact that designers can reduce the amount of material needed to create a particular wheel to a minimum. In the mean time computer stress analysis can pin point any potential errors or weaknesses. Forged wheels are used by all the top F1, rally and Time Attack teams. These wheels will handle more horsepower than YOU will ever put through them.

Loui, they also come in 17 x 8inch however the offset may be too much, but will check. Here are the specs for the TE37 in two sizes

17 x 7.5inch
Offset: +40

17 x 8inch (PLEASE NOTE: MAY STICK OUT TOO MUCH!)
Offset: +30

I'm thinking the 8inch wide TE37 would stick out over an inch when looking at the car from the front or back. The 17 x 7.5 inch with +40 would be perfect.

...lol who I'm kidding its just a pipe dream that I could afford them...

...Mrs would kill me if I got a 3rd set of wheels for this car

Damo, VOLK are indeed own by Rays Wheels. The CE28 is a fine wheel and FORDED! As for making them in 18inch fitment for the Mini they don't as yet. However if there is enough interest I'm sure they could be made, subject to XX number of sets being made.

Well after that School Boy error I can at least give some help for a change:

WHEELWEIGHTS.NET

Volk TE37 16x7.0 11.2lb 5.1kg
Volk TE37 17x7.5 15.0lb 6.8kg

In Context:

OZ Superleggera 16x7 14.6lb 6.6kg (Discontinued)
OZ Superleggera 17x7 15.2lb 6.9kg (Discontinued)
OZ Ultraleggera 16x7 14.5lb 6.6kg
OZ Ultraleggera 17x7 16.0lb 7.3kg

I'd put money on the Rays/Volks being stronger (as forged not cast) and stand by the comment that Rays wheels ARE the daddy!

Gram Lights 57's are only avaliable in 17 x 7 inch for Mini fitment (Offset +43). They are NOT forged instead cast. Hope this helps.

Are you sure the 17 inch RE30 will have space for the Brembo bbk? I'd expect them to do that with ET40, not 48...

The Brembo big brake kit will clear! I understand what you mean about the offset but it has a lot to do with the wheel spoke design.

Thanks, I was wondering though, there are two Brembo big brake kits...the GT junior and the GT which is bigger...which one would fit under these wheels?
